Dr Dave Kelly, Chiropractor, Johnsonville
I grew up in Porirua, but in 1993, at age 17, I moved to Melbourne to study chiropractic at RMIT. The next year I switched to the NZ chiropractic course that was being developed. I received my Bachelor of Science (Chiropractic) in 1999 after receiving a Bachelor of Science (Psychology/Physiology) from the University of Auckland in 1997.
In my last years of study I led a randomized controlled trial which used a mental rotation paradigm to study the effects of upper cervical adjustments on reaction time. In 2000 the research was published in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics and later I was awarded the Liz Mackay Award (for top NZ Chiropractic Researcher).
In 1999 I began working as a chiropractor in Wanganui, before moving to Dublin, Ireland in 2001 to work there.
I returned to NZ in 2002 to set up a practice with my Dad, Kelly Chiropractic, in Johnsonville, where I am still working.
In 2013 we took over Chiropractic Works in 2013. In 2014 Kelly Chiropractic moved the practice to 12 Moorefield Road. In 2018 we renamed the practices The Chiro Upper Hutt and The Chiro Johnsonville. In late-2018 we opened The Chiro Lower Hutt.
My passions are family time and football.
