Tradies: How chiropractic can help

Tradies have worse backs than the average person. This is largely due to heavy lifting, working in awkward positions and the repetitive nature of the work. However, another cause is the inability or reluctance to take time off and seek help when they get injured.

At The Chiro our first priority is to understand your chief complaint and reason for attending. At your new patient consultation we take a health history that reviews the circumstances of your pain, discomfort, stiffness etc. It is important to understand how the above mentioned stressors on your body relates to your reason for attending in order to provide you with the safest and best possible service.

We then conduct a combination of the following tests including the way you hold yourself (Posture), the way you walk (Gait), the way you move (Rom), diagnostics (Orthopedic tests), your brain-body connection (Neurological tests) and a closer look at both the area of, and possible origin of pain. If clinically appropriate we then take x-rays of the involved region of your spine to give us even further information regarding your reason for attending.

After gathering all this information, we then put together a plan of attack to get on top of the pain, manage the associated stressors on your spine to help you put your best foot forward to avoid the pain from returning. Our recommendations usually include chiropractic adjustments, muscle work, ergonomic advice, stretches, exercises and natural pain relief. If the above information shows that you could benefit from other care like a visit to your GP, acupuncture or personal training we will discuss that with you.

Once the plan of attack is organised, we then sit down with you (usually at your Report of Findings consultation) educate you regarding the above and answer any questions you may have.

Where do I start? If this is the question you are asking yourself, then this is what you need to do: Book your New Patient Consultation with us at https://thechiro.co.nz/book-now. You can book via phone, email or online.
